About Agnus Dei
The Agnus Dei, Lamb of God, is a central prayer of the Mass, calling upon Christ to take away the sins of the world. This setting for ATB voices reflects the plea for mercy and, in its final iteration, the yearning for peace. Oliver’s work offers a concise yet profound musical expression of this ancient plea. The Latin text, sung here in three parts, allows the composer to explore the text’s inherent solemnity and spiritual weight. It is a fitting excerpt for services or concerts where devotion and reflection are central.
