About Agnus Dei
The Agnus Dei is a central part of the Mass, a prayer for mercy and peace. This setting for SATB choir captures the solemnity of the text in Latin. The composer John Hetland crafts a moving rendition, emphasizing the plea to the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The music unfolds with a clear devotional purpose, building from the initial requests for mercy to the final, hopeful invocation for peace. This work is suitable for liturgical settings or as a reflective concert piece.
