Agnus Dei

Agostino Agazzari's Agnus Dei sets the familiar text with gravitas and devotion. Written for SATB choir, this setting draws upon the rich tradition of sacred Latin polyphony. The composer's skillful handling of the text underscores the supplication inherent in the words, as the choir pleads "Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us" before finally seeking "Lamb of God, who takest away the sins of the world, grant us peace."
