This motet, Adorna thalamum tuum, uses a Latin text that invites Sion to adorn its bridal chamber and receive Christ as King. It speaks of Mary, the heavenly gate, who carries the King of glory, a virgin mother who brings forth the Son. Simeon's prophecy of the Lord as the saviour of the world is also evoked. Giovanni Contino sets this rich text for a grand SSATTB choir, creating a sonorous and festive sound ideal for a procession. The polyphony masterfully reflects the solemnity and joy of the sacred subject matter.
