YOUR VOICES RAISE

"Your Voices Raise" is a grand choral piece that calls on the heavenly host—the Cherubim and Seraphim—to join in singing God's praise. Written by G. F. Handel, this anthem is a favorite for Nigerian choirs during festive seasons, grand celebrations, and special choral concerts. The music demands energy and precision, opening with a bold, majestic call before breaking into a joyful, cascading series of "Alleluias."

For a choir, mastering this piece is always an exciting challenge. The vocal parts weave through each other in classic Handel style, with the sopranos leading the bright, soaring runs while the lower voices provide a strong, rhythmic foundation. When the whole choir finally unites on the closing passages, the effect is incredibly uplifting. It is the kind of anthem that fills a church with sound and leaves the congregation feeling as though they have caught a glimpse of heavenly worship.
