About Silentio nocivo
This setting of Italian words from the secular madrigal tradition explores the expressions of love. The text begins by describing the sweet breath of lovers as affectionate words and songs, before urging the heart to express its burning ardour. If physical touch is absent, the singer should at least feed on two gentle kisses. The composer urges the afflicted mouth not to remain silent but to speak, sing, and breathe, in order to heal its sorrow. The piece is written for SATB choir.
