RỊỌ Ị GA ARỊỌTA by Chibi — Lyrics
About RỊỌ Ị GA ARỊỌTA
This beautiful Igbo choral work brings together three short, deeply reflective movements—"Rịọ Ị Ga Arịọta", "Chi Maara Obim", and "Adaberem Na Gị"—to form a continuous prayer of petition and trust. Composed by Chibi, the music moves from the biblical assurance that those who ask will receive, into a personal acknowledgment that God knows the deepest desires of the heart, and finally rests in total dependence on the Father in heaven.
Choirs often sing these gentle movements during the Offertory, Communion, or as a meditative response during the Prayer of the Faithful. The simple, sincere lyrics encourage the congregation to bring their worries and hopes to the altar. When the voices blend on lines like "Onye kụaa aka n'ụzọ g'emeghe" (Whoever knocks, the door will be opened), it creates a profound atmosphere of faith and reassurance inside the church.
What makes this arrangement so moving is its quiet confidence. It does not demand attention with loud, complex phrasing; instead, it offers a warm, comforting embrace. For anyone in the pews carrying a heavy burden, hearing the choir sing "Adaberem na Gị" (I depend on You) serves as a gentle reminder of God's unfailing protection and care.
