Ore Ofe Kristi

"Ore Ofe Kristi" is a gentle, flowing choral setting of the Grace—the familiar closing blessing drawn from 2 Corinthians. Babafemi Ogundipe’s arrangement captures the quiet reverence of a congregation preparing to depart after Mass. Singing "Ọrẹ ọfẹ Kristi Oluwa" (The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ), the choir leads the faithful in a final, unifying prayer for God's love and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

We often use this piece as a recessional or a dismissal anthem. The music unfolds with a calm, steady Andante grazioso pace, allowing the different voice parts to echo and support one another. When the tenors and basses introduce the prayer for the Holy Spirit's fellowship ("Ati idapọ Ẹmi mimọ"), the sopranos and altos soon join, building toward a shared, earnest plea for God's presence to remain with us forever ("K'o ma ba wa gbe titi lailai").

It closes with a series of warm, overlapping "Amens" that fade into a peaceful resolution. For a choir, it is a comforting way to send the congregation out into the world, wrapping the end of the liturgy in a spirit of shared blessing.
