About O YES! LORD I BELIEVE
"O Yes! Lord I Believe" is a vibrant, call-and-response setting of the Creed, designed to make the Profession of Faith an engaging and rhythmic moment for the whole congregation. Rather than reciting the traditional text straight through, the choir or cantor leads the articles of faith line by line. This allows the assembly to anchor each truth with a joyful, recurring affirmation of what they believe.
The piece is structured perfectly for active participation in Nigerian Catholic parishes. The verses walk through the core mysteries of the faith—from the Father's creation of heaven and earth, through the incarnation and resurrection of the Son, to the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit. Because the melody is carried in an accessible solfa arrangement, it is easy for a choir to learn and teach to the pews.
Singing the Creed this way transforms a solemn liturgical declaration into a spirited, communal act of worship. It is especially fitting for festive Sunday Masses and major solemnities, keeping the congregation spiritually alert and united in one voice as they profess the foundation of their faith.
