Messe de Saint-Boniface - Sanctus

When we reach the end of the Preface during Mass, the entire congregation and choir join their voices in the Sanctus. "Messe de Saint-Boniface - Sanctus" offers a bright, rhythmic setting of this great acclamation. Singing "Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus! Deus Sabaoth!" brings a sense of awe to the liturgy, reminding us that we are participating in the unending hymn of the angels.

This particular arrangement is structured neatly, allowing the choir to deliver the "Pleni sunt caeli" and the "Benedictus" as distinct verses that resolve into a joyful, repeating "Hosanna in excelsis Deo!" The music carries a steady, uplifting momentum that fits perfectly into the solemn yet triumphant atmosphere of the Eucharistic Prayer. It is a wonderful choice for feast days or Sunday Masses where the choir wants to lead the parish in a spirited, Latin setting of the Holy, Holy, Holy.
