MENE SU I WAARAZOR

When it comes to the Offertory, a choir needs music that draws the congregation into a spirit of genuine giving. "Mene Su I Waarazor" does exactly that. With its subtitle literally translating to "Lord, Receive our Sacrifice," this piece is a reverent, grounded offering hymn. Written by A.D. Kadelubari and dedicated to the St. Cecilia Choir of Rivers State University, it carries the distinct, prayerful cadence of the Khana language, making it a wonderful addition to any choir's local repertoire.

The lyrics lead the faithful in a humble petition to God, asking Him to accept the gifts placed on the altar. In the third verse, the song explicitly recalls the biblical offering of Abel ("bera waarazor Abel"), connecting our modern-day bread and wine to the ancient tradition of bringing our absolute best to the Lord.
