Man of Faith.

"Man of Faith." is a deeply moving Offertory hymn that beautifully intertwines the traditional presentation of the gifts with a reflection on the priestly vocation. The verses closely adapt the familiar prayers of the preparation of the altar—offering the bread and wine, the "fruit of the earth" and "work of human hands"—while the chorus shifts focus to the one who stands at the altar to offer them.

With its stirring refrain calling the priest a "man of faith, man of hope, sent to bring your love to men," the song captures the essence of ordained ministry. The overlapping vocal parts in the chorus—where different voices sing of being "sent to heal" and "sent to serve"—create a rich, echoing mandate of the priesthood. It is a wonderful choice for the Offertory procession, especially during ordinations, priestly anniversaries, or any Mass where the parish gathers to pray for their clergy.
