Lee Mo Nna

“Lee Mo Nna” is a short, earnest Igbo response designed specifically for the Prayer of the Faithful. The words form a direct and intimate plea to God, evoking a deep sense of seeking the Father's attention and protection over the community.

In the Catholic Mass, the intercessions are a moment of collective petition, and a sung response helps anchor the congregation in prayer. After the reader offers each intention, the choir and assembly sing this brief refrain. The melody is simple and repetitive, allowing the people in the pews to easily join in the collective cry of “biko zanu mo” as they lift their needs to heaven.

While the soprano line carries the central melody, the lower voices provide rhythmic and harmonic support, echoing the call to the Father. This layered arrangement creates a unified, grounded prayer that sustains the reverent mood of the liturgy between each spoken intention.
