KYRIE ELEISON by Mbachu, Christian Chukwudi — Lyrics
About KYRIE ELEISON
"Kyrie Eleison" is a gentle, reflective setting of the traditional Greek invocation sung during the Penitential Act of the Mass. Marked *Andante*, the piece moves at a calm, deliberate pace, allowing the choir to lead the congregation in a sincere plea for God's mercy before the Liturgy of the Word begins.
The arrangement by Christian Chukwudi Mbachu builds a quiet reverence through its four-part harmony. The sopranos carry the central melody, while the lower voices enter with supportive, echoing phrases that give the prayer a sense of depth and communal petition. It offers a solemn, grounded way to prepare the hearts of the faithful for the celebration of the Eucharist.
