KPOSHIEME

"Kposhieme" is a high-energy Igbo thanksgiving anthem that bursts with gratitude. Composed by Anokwu Paschal, the piece is built around a profound question of awe: who else could do such wonderful things for us but God? The lyrics marvel at the Lord's goodness, calling on everyone to come and see what the Creator has done ("I hulanụ Chineke mo"). It is a song of pure, uncontained joy, celebrating the King of Kings who dwells in heaven yet reaches down to bless our lives.

The score is arranged for a full choir with dynamic soprano and tenor solos that drive the rhythm forward. With its infectious highlife feel and percussive vocal lines—mimicking the sound of traditional instruments with phrases like "Tiri kokom tili jam kokom"—it naturally invites movement. Choirs often bring this out during festive occasions, harvest thanksgivings, or as a lively recessional when the congregation is ready to dance in praise.
