About King of Kings
The Easter celebration bursts forth in this vibrant anthem for SATB choir, King of Kings. Its Latin text, drawn from liturgical sources, proclaims "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we rejoice and are glad in it, alleluia." The composer Caleb Simper sets this jubilant declaration with music that reflects the joy and triumph of the season. Verses are provided in English for Easter Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, continuing the theme of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection. The interplay between the Latin and English texts offers a rich musical experience, ideal for Eastertide services.
