Jesus Christ is the same

Roger Petrich’s setting of Jesus Christ is the same is a vibrant anthem for SATB choir. The composer explores the unchanging nature of Christ through a compelling musical narrative, beginning with a bold declaration that expands into rich, imitative vocal writing. The music moves with a sense of affirmation and spiritual certainty, perfectly capturing the enduring message of the text. The piece opens with the choir in unison, establishing the central theme, before unfolding into contrapuntal sections that highlight the interplay between the different voice parts. This antiphon offers a powerful and accessible statement of faith, suitable for services and concerts.
