fons veri, lumen mentium,
excedens omne gaudium
et omne desiderium.
Sed super mel et omnia

About Jesu dulcis memoria 3
This setting of the anonymous hymn Jesu dulcis memoria is for TTBB male voices. The Latin text expresses the profound sweetness and joy found in the presence of Jesus, surpassing all earthly pleasures and desires. It speaks of Jesus as the source of truth, the light of minds, and the fount of mercy. The lyrics explore the intense love and longing for the divine, seeking an abundance of Jesus' love and the forgiveness he offers, ultimately finding heavenly honour in him. The music, while not detailed here, would likely aim to convey the devotional and heartfelt sentiments of this revered sacred text.
