About Jesu dulcis memoria
This SSA setting of the devotional Latin text Jesu dulcis memoria, a hymn to the sweetness of Jesus, captures the profound joy and consolation found in His presence. The words speak of Jesus as a source of true happiness, sweeter than honey and surpassing all earthly delights. The composer conveys the ineffable nature of love for Jesus, noting that it can only be truly understood through personal experience, beyond what language or writing can express. The music aims to reflect the text's contemplation of Jesus as the ultimate joy and reward, glorifying Him throughout the ages. This piece is well-suited for sacred settings, offering a moment of reflective devotion.
