This motet for Christmas Day rejoices in the birth of Christ. Its Latin text, here also translated into English, begins by describing the joy of all the angels celebrating the event with song and praise. It moves through the prophecies of the Incarnation by Ezekiel and the announcement by Gabriel, the visit of the Magi, and the birth from the Virgin Mary, all culminating in the Church’s own perpetual joy and praise. The work is set for ATB and TBB voices, offering a rich, resonant sound ideal for sacred occasions.
