In manu forti

Melchior Schramm's motet In manu forti is a powerful setting of a Latin text, suitable for services or concerts during Eastertide. The composer presents the triumphant words of Christ claiming victory over the world, proclaiming "I have overcome the world, says the Lord." The SSATTB voicing offers rich harmonic possibilities, ideal for a skilled choir. The text moves from Christ's declaration of victory to the expulsion of the devil, and finally to the resurrection and salvation of His people. This motet would serve as a profound musical meditation on the core tenets of the Christian faith, exploring themes of divine power and redemption through its intricate vocal lines and resonant harmonies.
