In exitu Israel by Giuseppe Belloni — Lyrics

Alleluja.

About In exitu Israel

The text of Psalm 113 (114) vividly recounts the Israelites' miraculous exodus from Egypt. The Red Sea parts, the River Jordan flows backwards, and mountains leap like rams. This setting by Giuseppe Belloni, for SATTB choir, captures the awe and wonder of these events. The music would have served as a responsorial psalm in Vespers, a service of evening prayer. The choir sings in Latin, reflecting the ancient tradition of the Church, and the text culminates in a declaration of God's power and glory, a powerful statement of faith that has resonated through centuries.
