Immolabit haedum

This responsory would be appropriate for Eastertide services. Francisco Valls sets a Latin text taken from the Old and New Testaments, relating the Passover sacrifice of the lamb to Christ as our Paschal Lamb. The music is written for a large choir of SATB and SSAATT voices, requiring a rich sound. The liturgical context is clear from the scriptural references to the Passover and the plea to feast on unleavened bread of sincerity and truth, reflecting the Paschal mystery.
