In Advent celebrates the approach of the Savior, proclaiming "Let us rejoice, the Savior draws near, whom God has promised us." The text continues, "The name of the Lord be praised forever. Hallelujah!" Mendelssohn's setting for SSAATTBB voices captures the joyful anticipation and divine praise inherent in the Advent season.
