Ihr Mädchen vom Lande — Lyrics
Ihr Mädchen vom Lande, wie seid ihr so schön!
So haben wir ihm Städtchen noch keine geseh'n.

About Ihr Mädchen vom Lande
This traditional German folk song is arranged for TTBB male voices. The lyrics celebrate the beauty of country girls and the pleasures of rural life, contrasting it with the town. It speaks of the robustness of country wine and the joys of simple pleasures: a sweetheart, a song, and a glass of wine. The text expresses a clear preference for the countryside, its inhabitants and produce, with a repeated refrain that adds to its cheerful and convivial character. This arrangement offers an opportunity to explore spirited, folk-inspired vocal writing.
