Meiland's sacred motet Ich weiß, daß mein Erlöser lebet for SATTB voices expresses a profound and personal conviction of faith. The German text speaks of the certainty that the composer's redeemer lives and will ultimately raise him from the earth, allowing him to see God in his own flesh. This is a deeply personal affirmation of the resurrection and the promise of divine encounter, looking forward to a future reunion with the divine, seen with one's own eyes.
