Horsu levianci by Giovanni Animuccia — Lyrics
Horsu levianci dalle piume,
et col divino lume
gimo a trovar Giesu.
Gia viene il gran signore;
su gimo a rincontrarlo,
con suono et canto et ballo,
et giubilante core.

About Horsu levianci
Animuccia's Horsu levianci is a sacred motet for three voices, SAT. The Italian text speaks of joyfully seeking Jesus with song and dance, comparing his arrival to both a humble lamb and a proud traveller. The music reflects this contrast, with moments of gentle devotion and exultant celebration. The interplay between the three parts creates a rich texture, drawing the listener into the devotional narrative. This piece offers a compelling emotional journey, from quiet anticipation to outward praise, making it a moving addition to any sacred choral programme.
