About Hor non nasce
Don Remigio's Hor non nasce is a sacred laude for SSB choir. This devotional Italian text explores the concept of original sin, contrasting the fallen state of humanity with the unique purity of the Virgin Mary, referred to here as 'my Queen' and 'God's Great Mother'. The composer vividly portrays the theological argument that all of Adam's descendants are born under divine sentence, yet the Blessed Mother is an exception, destined from Heaven for her exalted role. The music would seek to express this contrast between universal human frailty and Mary's singular, divinely appointed grace.
