About Homeward bound, Op. 91:4
Charles Villiers Stanford's Homeward Bound is the fourth part-song in his Op. 91 collection. Written for TBB choir and sung in English, it belongs to the tradition of secular choral part-songs. The text expresses the poignant joy and relief of sailors finally seeing their homeland after a long and arduous journey. It evokes a sense of peace after past storms and the dawning of a long-held hope.
