Holy, Holy, Holy by Emmanuel Eze — Lyrics
About Holy, Holy, Holy
"Holy, Holy, Holy" is a vibrant, rhythmic setting of the Sanctus, designed to lift the congregation's voices during the Eucharistic Prayer. Emmanuel Eze’s solfa arrangement brings a distinct, joyful energy to this central moment of the Mass. Instead of a slow, solemn chant, the music drives forward with an engaging, syncopated feel, inviting everyone in the pews to join the choir in proclaiming God's glory.
The structure of the piece is particularly clever, using repeated sections and varied endings to build momentum. The choir opens with a bright, repeating refrain of "Holy, Holy," before branching into the different phrases of the prayer. When the voices declare that "Heaven and Earth are full of your Glory," the harmony opens up beautifully, leading into a spirited "Hossana in the highest." It is a wonderful choice for festive Sunday Masses, bringing a sense of lively celebration to the altar.
