Hodie nobis caelorum

Pomponio Nenna's Hodie nobis caelorum is a sacred responsory for SATB choir. The Latin text proclaims the birth of Christ from a Virgin, bringing salvation to humanity and joy to the angelic host. The music reflects the exultant message of "Gloria in excelsis Deo" and "pax hominibus bonae voluntatis" as eternal salvation has appeared to mankind. Nenna's setting captures the profound significance of this Christmas narrative, offering a rich and devotional experience for choirs and listeners alike. This piece is a powerful example of Renaissance sacred polyphony, suitable for liturgical settings or concert programmes seeking a work of both spiritual depth and musical artistry.
