Today Christ is born, today the Saviour has appeared. This jubilant motet rejoices in the incarnation, depicting angels singing in heaven and archangels celebrating. The text, a popular Christmas sequence, also has the righteous exulting and proclaiming glory to God in the highest. Simone Molinaro’s setting for five voices (SATTB) is a vibrant and joyful expression of this festive occasion, with its repeated Alleluia underscoring the overwhelming sense of praise.
