About Heilig ist unser Gott
Christoph Dalitz composed this majestic German hymn, Heilig ist unser Gott, for SATB choir. The text is a powerful expression of divine glory and omnipresence, reflecting the tradition of sacred German Lutheran hymns. The lyrics proclaim God's holiness and might, stating that all of creation, the earth and heavens, are part of His plan and testify to His infinite power. The text continues with a jubilant call for all living things to rejoice and sing praises to God, affirming His holiness. Dalitz's setting aims to convey the awe and reverence inspired by such profound theological statements, making it a fitting choice for services focusing on God's majesty.
