About Heilig, heilig, heilig
The German text calls for holiness, proclaiming God as Almighty Lord of Sabaoth. It states that all his children must be free from sin, holy and pure, and asks Jesus Christ to help achieve this end through the sacraments. André Vierendeels sets this devotional text for STB choir, a setting that would suit services of worship. The hymnal nature of the German text suggests a traditional, devotional atmosphere, with a focus on the aspiration towards purity and divine grace.
