About Havanna

This joyful anthem, set for STB voices, opens with a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings of life. The text praises God for the love that sustains us, for the bounty of the harvest – the fruits of the field, the vine, and the olive – and for the comforting warmth of the sun and the nourishing rain. It is a fitting choice for a harvest festival, or for any occasion when a choir wishes to express gratitude for divine providence. Oliver Holden's setting captures the celebratory and devotional spirit of the words.
