HANMA SHIE

"Hanma Shie" is a joyful Tiv hymn of unceasing praise and thanksgiving. The title translates to "Every time" or "Always," setting the foundation for a song that encourages the faithful to bless the Lord in all seasons. With its steady, rhythmic verses, it calls the congregation to praise (Wuese), honor (Civir), and rejoice (Ember) in God without end.

Written by Rev. Fr. Joshua Y. Achir, the piece is structured with a simple, repeating melodic motif that makes it easy for the assembly to join in. The verses build a litany of devotion—moving from individual thanksgiving (Mesugh Ter) to a collective voice of gratitude (Sesugh Ter).
