Hallelujah by Amos Bull — Lyrics
About Hallelujah
The text, drawn from Psalm 148, is a magnificent call to praise God from all of creation. It begins with a resounding Alleluia and proceeds to list the heavens, angels, powers, sun, moon, stars, waters, and then the earth with its mountains, trees, beasts, birds, and rulers, all urging them to laud the Lord. The composer Amos Bull sets this grand vision in a sacred anthem for SSTB choir, blending Latin and English text. The music aims to capture the expansive, universal scope of the psalm's message, inviting singers and listeners alike to join in cosmic adoration.
