About Haec dies, op.66/11
Oreste Ravanello's Haec dies, op.66/11, is a sacred setting for SSA voices in Latin. Based on the antiphon for Easter Sunday, the text joyfully proclaims "This is the day which the Lord has made: let us rejoice and be glad in it, alleluia." The composer further develops this Easter theme by incorporating scriptural verses, traditionally sung on successive days of Eastertide. The music would therefore be highly appropriate for services during the Easter season, reflecting the jubilant message of Christ's resurrection. The antiphon and its associated verses are central to the liturgical celebrations of this important Christian festival.
