About Gregem tuum
This motet is a heartfelt plea to the eternal shepherd, asking for guidance and protection for his flock. The text, in Latin, invokes Jesus as the source of life and asks to be united with him in eternal peace. The second part of the text addresses Jesus as the glorious king of kings, through whom we never cease to call upon the Father. It asks that we may live in such a way that after death we may attain the joys of true light. Scored for SSATB, Gregem tuum by Johannes Lupi is a sacred work of devotional intensity, suitable for services or concerts where profound spiritual expression is sought.
