About Goûtes-y
Pierre Maniez's Goûtes-y invites the listener to savour life, comparing it to a bee sampling a rose. The text suggests a life of moderation and appreciation for fleeting beauty. This charming SAB setting captures the gentle, reflective mood of the French words, offering a delightful moment of musical pleasure. Its secular nature makes it suitable for a variety of concert programmes, providing a refreshing contrast with its elegant melody and straightforward harmonic language.
