About God is ons toevlucht
This setting of a Dutch hymn text offers reassurance during times of trouble, drawing on imagery of natural upheaval to emphasize God's steadfast protection. The words speak of a refuge and helper, a source of grace even when the earth is shaken and mountains fall into the sea. The composer André Vierendeels has set this text for SAB choir, providing a powerful yet accessible musical expression of faith. Its sacred nature and hymn-like quality make it suitable for services where comfort and divine security are proclaimed.
