God is bekent by André Vierendeels — Lyrics
1. God is bekent int Ioedtsche lant,
hooch is zijn naem ghepresen,
Aldaer so is zijn vrede wel gheplant.
Sijn woning is Syon ghepresen.
Daer woont zijn Goddelijcke maiesteyt,
hy is daermen zijn eer verbreyt.
Daer wil hy int midden wesen.

About God is bekent
This SAB setting of God is bekent opens with a thoughtful, devotional mood. The composer André Vierendeels sets a Dutch sacred text celebrating God's presence and power. The first stanza speaks of God's name being praised in the land of Judah, with Zion as the place of His dwelling and majesty. The second stanza continues this theme, recounting how God has broken the bows and weapons of His enemies, showing His mighty hand. The music aims to reflect the steadfast faith and assurance expressed in the text, offering a piece suitable for congregational singing or a reflective moment within a service.
