Go tell it on the mountain by Horst Hinze — Lyrics
Go tell it everywhere
that Jesus Christ is born!
R.: Go tell it on the mountain,
Over the hills and everywhere,
Go tell it on the mountain,
That Jesus Christ is born.
When I was a sinner

And He showed me the way.
R.

About Go tell it on the mountain
This arrangement of the well-known spiritual Go tell it on the mountain is for SATB choir and organ. Horst Hinze sets the familiar text in English, with the choir urged to proclaim the news of Christ's birth. The music explores the joy and conviction of the message, as recounted in the verses where the singer describes finding the way and being made a watchman. The powerful refrain, Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, is ideal for conveying the spiritual's message of universal celebration and evangelism.
