Glory be to the Father

Thomas Tomkins sets the familiar doxology text in this atmospheric anthem for ATB choir. The music moves with a gentle, flowing quality, with the three voices often weaving together in close imitation. The composer creates a sense of spaciousness and contemplation, allowing the serene text to unfold naturally. The Latin text is followed by its English translation, offering a comprehensive setting of this important liturgical text. The interplay between the voices is a key feature, creating a rich yet uncluttered sound world that is both devotional and musically engaging.
