Genoe by Ephraim Reed — Lyrics

In finem. Canticum psalmi resurrectionis. Jubilate Deo, omnis terra; psalmum dicite nomini ejus; date gloriam laudi ejus.

About Genoe

This striking setting of Psalm 66, verses 1-8, originally known as Jubilate Deo, for SATB choir and organ draws on the power and majesty of the Latin text. It then moves into an English translation, with the choir proclaiming the awesome power of God's works and praising Him for His dominion over all creation. The music reflects the varied moods of the text, from triumphant acclamation to quiet awe. Suitable for a large congregation or festival occasion, its rich harmonies and dynamic contrasts make it a rewarding choice for a choir seeking a substantial sacred work.
