Gaudens Gaudebo

This sacred motet for SATB choir sets a passage from the prophet Isaiah, expressing profound joy and exultation in God's salvation. The text, Gaudens gaudebo in Domino, speaks of being clothed in the garments of salvation and righteousness, comparing the soul to a bride adorned for her groom. Flaminio Comanedo's setting is likely suited for liturgical occasions, perhaps during seasons of celebration or thanksgiving within the church calendar, where its uplifting message and devotional character can be fully appreciated. The Latin text offers a rich opportunity for expressive choral singing.
