Agostino Agresta's Fugg' il seren' è'l verde is a secular Italian madrigal for a large double choir of SSATTB. It is suited for occasions when a mood of melancholy or regret is required. The text speaks of fleeing serenity and greenery, of avoiding laughter and song, and urges that the composer's song should be one of weeping, not of joy.
