About Four Songs on Love's Passing
This set of four secular songs for SSSAAA voices explores the complex emotions surrounding the end of a romantic relationship. The first song, 'Through your silent tears', powerfully depicts the painful process of separation, where tears symbolically cleanse and heal. The subsequent haiku, 'Spring', offers a poignant metaphor for lost love, comparing its fleeting warmth to dying embers. 'Lovers link arms' contrasts the public displays of affection with the singer's private sorrow, a hand empty yet a heart full of memories.
