Food and Gladness

This SATB anthem, Food and Gladness, opens with a joyful and full texture, celebrating the bounty of creation. The music directly reflects the exultant English text, which speaks of the Lord providing rain and fruitful seasons, filling hearts with food and gladness. The composer Caleb Simper crafts a setting that moves from moments of profound reverence, considering the manifold works and riches of God, to uplifting praise. It is a jubilant declaration of gratitude for the earth’s abundance, suitable for a celebratory occasion.
