FIELDS FULL OF FLOWERS. by P. F. Ambadu — Lyrics
About FIELDS FULL OF FLOWERS.
"Fields Full of Flowers" is a bright, creation-centered hymn that draws heavily on the imagery of Psalm 24. It opens with a gentle reflection on nature—pine woods, clear waters, and birds in flight—before shifting its gaze to the Creator. The chorus is a simple but soaring declaration that all of heaven and earth will praise the "Holy of Holies."
Because of its lyrical ties to the psalms ("Who will go up to the mountain of God?", "Lift up your hearts O ye Ancient doors"), this piece works beautifully as an Entrance hymn. It gathers the congregation's focus, moving from the visible beauty of the world outside the church doors to the spiritual readiness needed to enter God's presence.
The melody is straightforward and uplifting, making it easy for both the choir and the assembly to pick up. When the harmony swells on the chorus, it brings a wonderful sense of shared worship to the Mass, reminding everyone in the pews that our voices are joining a much larger, universal song of praise.
